Hanging planters are a fantastic way to add houseplants to a restricted space. I have been a fan of living walls and have been contemplating purchasing a hanging planter for years, but it wasn’t until I saw them in my local boutique store, Small Batch, that I decided to take the plunge and add them to my home. They ordered the WallyGro Loop hanging planters for me. They come in a variety of colors (five as of when this was written) and the loops can be configured to hang from the ceiling or the wall depending on your needs and the desired aesthetic.
The Loop Hanging Planter has a two-piece design. It consisted of an inner shell that provides drainage making it more difficult to overwater the plant that lives in it and it also provides aeration for the roots. Many plastic pots that don’t leak are very easy to overwater and thus kill your beautiful houseplants. This sits in an outer shell that prevents leakage and also can act as a repository for water when you are on vacation.
The contents are well packaged, with the screw, drywall anchor, and rope in an envelope to prevent loss. One of the things that I think sets this apart is the fact that it comes with the screw to secure it to the wall, but also an aesthetically pleasing cover for the screw that is very easy to install. wally gro l
The cord that it comes with is over 6 feet long. I opted for the single loop tie method and the process was easy using the video from their website below. When it hangs, it does so at an angle, which I do not really love, but it still looks really good. To get the doubled-up cord through the hole provided in the planter, took some doing, but turned out to be okay.
It is helpful to have a drill for the pilot hole, but otherwise hanging the planter is something most people can do themselves to great reward. The hardware and wall knob that comes with the loop makes it easy to look finished while also keeping the Loop secure.
